A Lesson to Learn From My Credit Score Story...

Yes, it could happen to anyone… learning from my own woes and how I pulled through can help you a lot when similar situation arises. I thought missing a credit card payment only twice would not mean much… however, I was shocked to find out how low my score has sunk the next time I checked my credit score! This is not just removal of one or two figures, the score came so low that it was almost impossible for any lender to look at me twice.

The good news is that I was able to act fast and bounce back…yes, I pushed the score from the depths to the stratosphere. It did take some time, but I’m glad I bounced back!

My Story…

My name is Jennifer Anderson: My credit score sunk so low, as low as 348 due to circumstances I’m about to share shortly. However, when I sought for help and stayed consistent with the proffered solution to my low credit rating, my credit score soared to 702!

My ordeal; after I lost my job as a manager in a thriving organization, I woke up one day to find that my credit score has deteriorated to an average of 348, and my score reported among the three bureaus at a 316 (perhaps the lowest ever!). My credit history featured a repossessed car, as well as over 40 collections – every single report in my record showed negative, only my student loan escaped a negative report.

To add to my sorrow, I have two kids as a single mother, I needed to get a house since I had to leave the company’s apartment after I lost my job. Anywhere I turned to, they simply ignored me…bad credit history.

The Turn of Event for Me; I was left with no option but to look for how to fix my credit report. So I embarked on a painstaking research on practical steps for repairing bad credit record. Then I stumbled on a popular web page where folks come to share their credit record ordeals and how they pulled through. One of the things I learnt was this; if you are 4 months behind in making a payment, it is the same as having been through repossession (according to credit bureau). Unfortunately, most people are not aware of this fact! The big and simple lesson; pay your bills on time!

Although it was difficult, I had to start all over again. A friend offered the extra room in her home to me and the kids…that reduced the burden while I worked hard to repair my credit record. Well, my score gradually climbed to 648 and I was able to purchase a comfortable home.

I did some other things to erase bad records from my credit history. I practically approached each creditor either via phone or through mails to request for removal of negative reports, and each of them granted me that favor! Of course, this was after I repaid my debts fully.

My best word to you; don’t listen to hypes, there is no magic when it comes to fixing your credit history. Sit back, get tips from experts and from previous victims, then work hard to fix your credit score – patience and determination are the keys.
